Dr. Cary Mackey

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Cary Mackey is a Hampton Roads native that started her career in veterinary medicine and animal care with Denbigh Animal Hospital as the “kennel girl” in 2008. She went on to earn her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Auburn University. (WAR EAGLE!) She started her career in Atlanta, GA in 2015 where she practiced for six years as an associate with Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic and as an in-home hospice and end-of-life care veterinarian with Lap of Love. She returned to the Old Dominion and Denbigh Animal Hospital in March 2020 and has loved serving her hometown community. Dr. Mackey’s professional interests include dermatology, surgery, dentistry, and geriatric care. She shares her beautiful life with her husband, two daughters, a German-shorthaired pointer mix named Maple, and three cats.
